Architectural Resources has had a busy couple of years doing projects for Hibbing High School.

Hibbing, MN, Architectural Resources has been around assisting Hibbing with projects since 1947. Their business has been especially busy these last couple years helping with Hibbing High School projects.

Hibbing High School was a gift to the town for compromising when the town moved. Hibbing Minnesota is known as “the town that moved”. The town moved because it was in a prime mining location. The town didn’t want to move originally, so they ended up compromising and budling Hibbing Minnesota the best school in the whole country, and it still is.

When the school was built in 1921, the project cost about $3.9 million. Now if the school were to be for sale, it could go for $50.4 million.

People come from all over the world to see Hibbing High School and the moved town. The school offers tours, and even has a historical room with artifacts from when the school was first built. If one goes into the historical room, there is even a sign in book that dates back to 1980.

One of the businesses most popular projects was finished just about 4 years ago. Hibbing High School’s famous auditorium was updated. This project took just over 18 months, and over $4 million when it was finished.

Historic Hibbing High School’s tour guide for the historical auditorium stated, “working on the high school can be a really hard project. Because of the school’s history, updating it is very difficult with only being able to use limited supplies.”

The update was difficult and took so long due to the Historical Society having so many rules against changes and updating. The paint had to be chosen from specific pallets, there was only so many options for new carpeting and seat covers, and the lighting basically couldn’t be touched unless it was to be cleaned.

Business manager, Angela Ducote, stated when interviewed, “I’ve never seen a town so excited to see a final product of one of our projects.” This project was one of the biggest that the business has ever done.

The Bob Dylan Memorial was also just recently finished in Hibbing. It is right outside of the band door of the high school. This project took a long time to finish due to fundraising and even voting on whether to put it at the high school. The project took about four years, and it still isn’t finished.

Business partner of ARI, David Jordan, said the project was very controversial to the town of Hibbing. “People were unsure of the project and its placement, but the vote was for it to be at the high school, so that’s where we put it.”

This project goes very well with the high school’s aesthetic. The high school is all brick and cemented and so is the memorial, so it matches quite well.

This project cost about $750,000.

A newer project that has the students and coaches of Hibbing High School most excited right now is the announcement of the updating of Cheever Field.

This field is where the high school football team practices and plays their home games. The field hasn’t been updated in a very long time, so there is lots of excitement over it finally happening.

The exciting new field will take about two years to finish and will cost around $4 million when done.

The deconstruction of the field was started this summer, but it won’t be finished until next summer 2022. This means that this year’s football home games are being played at the new Mountain Iron Minnesota field, which was also a project done by ARI.

The Mountain Iron field was finished about five years ago, and it is stunning. This project took about 2 years to complete and cost about $2.5 million.

These projects have taken Hibbing Minnesota’s community and brought them all together. The town of Hibbing is also coming together to create new projects without companies, and just creating ideas within the community.

Other projects the town has worked on so far is gardening at Frank Hibbing. The town all got together bringing home grown plants and flowers to place at the Frank Hibbing statue in North Hibbing.

Not only did they plant a whole garden, but they have also been planting all around town to make the town look more approachable and friendly.

Architectural Resources also just finished with the ECFE Early Learning Center. This project took all summer and cost about $8 million to complete. The building offers more space in the community for parents and children and provide a more significant learning environment.

Hibbing is becoming very excited for the projects that are finished and projects that have been announced. The town has many new projects coming ahead in the next couple years as well.
